I found some interesting thoughts in the Drupal developers' conversation on the Moodle module, to take into account in the design of our learning programs, here: http://drupal.org/node/678918 .
- the D7 version of the module may not be released until next year.
- which also depends on when D7 is released
In light of this:
- Giving online-courses, providing resources for conference support, collaborative and unstructured learning are all interlinked with Moodle capabilities.
- They would all most likely be essential parts of the site
So the possible options are:
a) make do until module is available
b) look at other ways of integrating Moodle with the site
c) or alternatives to Moodle that might be easier to integrate
Suggestion b) in fuller terms might simply involve running a moodle site as a sub-site to a main drupal site, minus the ease of automatically having the same login details, which can be worked around.
OR
depending on what the timescale is for actually launching the site, exporting it (when most of the rest has been built) to a drupal 6 installation with the moddle integration module, and then upgrading it all when drupal 7 is released.
